Large shark sighted near Flinders Bay, Augusta

The Western Australian Department of Fisheries has issued a warning following the sighting of a large shark 10m offshore at Flat Rocks between Leeuwin Lighthouse and Flinders Bay, Augusta.


Believed to be a large white pointer, the shark was spotted at 6.30pm on Saturday, January 14. The Augusta Margaret River Shire has been notified and has closed several beaches in the area. Water users are advised to be cautious.
