G3 BOATS EAGLE TALON 17
Tournament-style boats continue to gain a foothold in the Australian market and G3 Boats – a subsidiary of Yamaha Marine Company – has blended efficiency and function with its local range.
The company has a strong following in the US where its aluminium bass boats, punts and pontoon boats are highly regarded, due to a longstanding reputation for quality construction and fitout. The Eagle Series tournament boats are G3’s flagship range – a versatile all-welded speed machine, built to withstand the rigours of tournament fishing but with a wide beam for reliable stability.
The Eagle Talon 17 takes this design concept even further, boasting a 2.34m beam in its 5.44m length, plus a 10° deadrise for smooth riding.
The sharp entry lines of the bow provide a wave-splitting glide to even out the rough stuff, even with lower horsepower motors.
Up forward, the Minn Kota Edge trolling motor is matched to a recessed foot controller for all-day comfort, while an extra large 125lt livewell includes a recirculating pump to keep your catch fresh.
On port, there’s a rod locker in the floor capable of swallowing 9ft sticks plus gear, and at the dash the skipper enjoys Faria gauges, plus a custom wheel.
Through its association with Yamaha, G3 is also able to offer attractive packages on motors too, and power options from 40 to 90hp are recommended for the Talon 17, which weighs in at 470kg (dry hull).
