Mustang launches 2850 Sports Cruiser

MUSTANG LAUNCHES 2850 SPORTS CRUISER

Australian luxury boatbuilder, Mustang Marine, has opened 2010 with the launch of its new 2850 Sports Cruiser and 2850 Super Sports models.

The two boats are based on the 2800 Sports Cruiser, and target the entry-level cruising market.

The 2850 Sports Cruiser will make its way around Australia and New Zealand in coming weeks, and will be on show in Queensland at the Mustang Marine Runaway Bay dealership until Wednesday, January 20. It will then be displayed at Mustang Marine NSW from January 25 to 28, the Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Festival from February 5 to 7 and the Auckland International Boat Show in March.

Priced from $155,403 the 2850 Sports Cruiser is said to borrow the good bits from the 2800 Sports Cruiser and adds a range of the latest features and innovations with extra living and entertaining space.

Mustang said entertaining was a major consideration in the new design, with the 2850s now more beamy providing extra room in the cockpit and below decks, where there is full standing height, a separate shower and head. Adding to more comfort and access below, the galley has been moved from the cabin area to the cockpit, while steps leading to the foredeck and a boarding ladder to stern and bow will ensure safe and easy access on the boat in and out of the water.

Among the latest technology onboard the 2850 are a touch-screen electrical control panel, Finscan fingerprint engine-start, SmartCraft gauges, electric engineroom access, and entertainment system. Standard engines include the 260hp MerCruiser 5.7lt EFI with Bravo 3 leg and Volvo 5.7lt GXI MPI with duo-props.

“Functionality, the integration of technology and the application of cutting-edge design were the cornerstones of our approach to developing the 2850”, said Russell Weston operations director at Mustang Marine.

“We’ve integrated everything that made the original 2800 so popular and looked at how we could improve the critical areas of the boat that our customers have demanded, which is the performance, improved entertaining areas and the addition of leading-edge equipment and technology,” he said.
