The Perry 445 catamaran is just one of many new products on display at the 2014 Mackay Boat Show.

2014 Mackay Boat Show

Mackay along with the Whitsundays and the Isaac region boasts some of the most beautiful (and accessible) waterways around Australia. To promote the region, Marine Queensland is proud to announce the fourth Mackay Boat Show.

Based at the Mackay Marina on Mulherin Drive, visitors to the 2014 Mackay Boat Show can expect displays of boats, wakeboarding, and PWCs, plus a heap of information from marine tourist operators and marine manufacturers and plenty of fishing interests.

Here are just some of the displays at the 2014 Mackay Boat Show.

  • Voyager Catamarans will launch a Sportsfish version of its Voyager V625 catamaran. The design can be built with an open or lockup cabin, and with two single or one king-size berth. The new model brings the number of V625 variants to three. Interestingly, this hull is built under licence at the Haines Group’s Signature factory at Wacol, Queensland. The boat has a BMT weight of approximately 2500kg.
  • Cumberland Charter Yachts will display its new Perry 445. The charter cat is the newest addition to a 21-boat fleet managed by Sharon Flint. The Perry 445 is open for inspection and has travelled from its base at Abel Point Marina, Airlie Beach. It can be chartered as a bareboat or alternatively with its own skipper.
  • Local Mackay-based dealership, Ocean Marine will assemble a display of trailerbots from its ranges of Stessco, Aluvan, Savage and Formosa aluminium boats. The company will also offer packages with new 40 and 50hp Tohatsu four-stroke outboards. These engines are new to the market and will make their public debut at the 2014 Mackay Boat Show.
  • Madfinns Boat Wraps will demonstrate how wraps are applied to boat hulls. The company will demonstrate its technique on a 4.5m tinnie.
  • Cooper Anchors will demonstrate the capabilities of its anchors. Manufactured in three sizes (kayaks and canoes, PWCs and boats to 3.5m, and vessels to around 5m), Cooper anchors are made from nylon and are said to offer excellent holding power. Owner Larry Cooper has sold more than 17,000 anchors and recently embarked on an export program.

These are just some of the displays at the 2014 Mackay Boat Show. Visit the organiser's website or head to the show.
