BOAT SHOWS - Jeanneau world-premiere at Sydney show

Feature Article

Jeanneau Australia will display the all-new Sun Odyssey 379 in a World Premier at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show, starting late July.

The SO379 will take pride of place alongside the other newly released Jeanneau models for 2011, the SO439 and the current European Yacht of the Year, the SO409.

“The Marc Lombard-designed cruiser follows the design success of the 409 and 439 by being easy to handle, having excellent performance, and being a delight to relax on at anchor,” said the local distributor.

Available in a two- or three-cabin version, the 379 also has a lifting keel option that grants access to shallower inlets and secluded bays. Other keel options include deep or shoal draft.

Also optional is a self-tacking jib, while customers can also select a larger overlapping headsail or the standard easy-to-tack or gybe 105 per cent overlap genoa. Following the design features of the 409 and 439, the headsail and mainsail sheets are led back to primary winches on both sides in easy reach of the helmsperson.

“All lines are fed back to the cockpit under the coach roof for a clean and uncluttered look that also makes moving about on deck that much safer,” said Jeanneau Australia.

The spacious cockpit features “voluminous” lockers, twin wheels and a large folding table. Opening ports and flush hatches provide natural light below deck, where Jeanneau says is a high-end contemporary interior that will appeal to the most discerning buyer.
