NEW BOATS - Chaparral 327 SSX

Hot from the USA and in time for the Sydney International Boat Show (starting late July) is the Chaparral 327 SSX, a performance bowrider claimed to be the first in the class with a full-beam cabin for overnighting.

“You can entertain all of your friends, tow your favorite water toys, take a long comfortable trip — even in big water — and at the end of the day stay aboard, watch a movie and wake up for a late breakfast to do it all over again,” said Chaparral.

Chaparral Australia, which will also stage the world-launch of the brand-new model 225 Cuddy at the Sydney show, says the 327 SSX is “easily the most exciting and innovating new release in years”.

With nine twin petrol engine and three drive setups available, Chaparral describes the 32-footer as part performance boat, part family bowrider and part overnight cruiser.

It’s the largest of the SSX four-model range and the Nashville, Georgia-based builder’s biggest bowrider.
Chaparral adds, “It is the first bowrider in its class to offer a full-beam cabin with overnight accommodation for two, a standup head complete with shower, an optional 26in flatscreen TV and passenger capacity of 20-plus.”

Twin engine options from MerCruiser or Volvo Penta offer a total output range of 600hp to 860hp, and are also available with the resprective engine-brand’s joystick controls.
