NEW YACHTS - Bavaria Cruiser 40 Sport
In addition to the world launch of the new Cruiser 50 at boot Düsseldorf, Germany’s premiere boat show, this weekend, boatbuilder Bavaria will also unveil the Sport-version of its Cruiser 40.
“The high-performance hull, from the pen of Farr Yacht Design, combined with the Sport-Option makes the Cruiser a true racer for sport-ambitious sailors, who do not like to miss comfort and space,” said Bavaria.
The Cruiser 40 Sport (40.S) is an additional cost of almost Euro 15,000 on top of the base-boat price.
Bavaria said the principal concept of the Cruiser 40 was an optimisation of weight to ensure an improved performance. “This was achieved through optimisation of the interior and application of weight-saving building materials,” it explained.
Alongside a longer, narrower Seldén mast and race boom and a new performance keel, the Cruiser 40.S is also equipped with the following features:
* Cockpit traveller (German mainsheet system)
* Twin spinnaker sheets
* Performance deck fittings by Seldén
* Carbon spinnaker boom
* Composite steering wheels with Y-crossings
* Lewmar Mamba steering system
* Lewmar EVO winches
* TackTick Micronet race electronics with maxi-displays on mast, tactical multifunctional-handset (solar operated,
wireless)
* Hydraulic backstay adjuster
With the new Cruiser 50, Bavaria said it now closes the gap between the 45 and 55, not only for the requirement of the charter market, but as a sailing yacht with well-tried and tested and perfected functions.
The company pointed out that the Cruiser 50 is highlighted by an “extraordinarily” spacious deck and plenty of interior light from 17 flush hatches. There’s also a standard large bathing platform that’s also an easy-step for boarding, too,
fold-out foot rests in front of the double steering wheels and a twin-rudder system that offers not only more sailing performance but safety.
The Cruiser 50 is available in five- or four-cabin layout, both featuring three wet rooms, and a separate shower is optional. Bavaria said a four-cabin model with four heads and separate shower will follow later this year.
