NEWS - Bavaria takes Garmin onboard

Bavaria Yachts and satellite navigation company Garmin have partnered to supply the latter’s equipment onboard all motor and sailboats of the German boatbuilder.

Bavaria said its Garmin-equipped boats will be made available from the Düsseldorf boat show (January 22 to 30) launch.

Equipment includes:
* NMEA 2000 compatible 4000 and 5000 series multifunction-display chartplotters, featuring satellite-enhanced worldwide basemap, XM weather and radio, and more
* The 720s GPS chartplotter (received a special mention at the Dame awards, METS 2010), a 7in display with finger-touch control that puts all information at your fingertips
* GMI 10 Digital Marine Instrument display, a fully integrated marine instrument system showing up to 24 different data sources e.g. fuel, boast speed, wind direction, engine monitoring etc.
* GHP 10 autopilot designed for powerboats with hydraulic steering, and the GHP 12 second-generation autopilot designed for 20- to 70-foot sailboats with linear-actuated steering systems

“We are very pleased to offer Garmin products to a larger group of boating enthusiasts,” said Bavaria CEO, Dr Jens Ludmann.

“After a long and intensive evaluation of alternative suppliers we rated Garmin top of the list in terms of functionality and value for money.

“This fits perfectly with our positioning and explains the link between Bavaria boats and Garmin products. I am sure that our partnership will be very successful in delivering quality products for our customers,” he said.
