NEW BOATS - Sabre 40 Sedan
The new Sabre 40 Sedan will make its Australian debut at next year’s Sydney International Boat Show.
Sabre distributor, Sydney-based Emarine Australia, described the Maine built, lobster-styled 40S as a remarkable vessel, purpose designed and built for Zeus pod-drives, and a huge success in North America.
The new style of sedan is available with or without a flybridge permitting the skipper to operate from the comfort of the interior or from the openness of an optional flybridge.
Sabre said traditional values such as fine craftsmanship and great looks remain in the build and design of the 40 Sedan, while below the surface things are state-of-the-art including infusion moulding, using less resin. The result is a lighter boat that allows the hull to run faster and use less fuel.
The American boat builder said it was sold on pod-drive technology since first employing the Zeus model in July, 2008.
“The result of that boat’s sea trials told us that everything has changed and nothing will remain the same,” said Sabre. “Smaller engines using vectored thrust propel the boat at higher speeds using less fuel. And when maneuvering in tight spaces a joystick makes child’s play of docking.”
