NEW BOATS - Maritimo 48 hits 100
Maritimo is celebrating the 100-boat milestone for its most popular 48 Cruising Motoryacht with the launch of the Series II model.
The M48 Series II takes on a number of the design concepts first seen with the new-generation M56 and M53 Cruising Motoryachts, such as the deletion of the “wings” over the sidedecks for a more streamlined looking superstructure, and the hull now sporting a large portlight on the portside to the master stateroom.
Maritimo said to continue the smoother look, the designers also deleted the starboard skipper’s door in the saloon, and in consequence have extended the starboard lounge forward to the bulkhead offering more seating in the saloon. The galley has been remodelled with full-height refrigerator and full-height swing-out pantry, and access between the galley and aft cockpit dramatically improved with bi-fold doors that tuck away to open the entire saloon.
Maritimo said its designers have maintained the most popular elements of the original craft first launched in 2007 in the M48 Series II, including hallmark walkaround decks and internal staircase, three-cabin/two-bathroom accommodation, and spacious saloon and large flybridge, the latter now slightly extended with a sunroof as standard.
Although the M48 Cruising Motoryacht Series II is not due for launch until January, Maritimo says it says it has orders for four of the new model, with the first boat bound for South Africa.
