NEW RIBS — Scorpion strikes

NEW RIBS - Scorpion Strikes

The sporty new 9.0m Scorpion Strike RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) is available for immediate delivery in the southern hemisphere through Scorpion RIBs Australia following its debut at this month’s PSP Southampton Boat Show.

The distributor said the new RIB is built on a modified 8.5m hull featuring a “step” design from naval architect Lorne Campbell, and followed months of development in the UK and secret testing in the Mediterranean.

“Scorpion hulls are renowned for their ability to maintain higher average speeds over longer distances and in poor sea conditions,” said Scorpion RIBs. “The new Scorpion Strike takes this even further with a single-engine package that delivers outstanding performance, comfort and handling, with fuel economy figures that many powerboat owners could only dream of.”

According to the manufacturer, the Strike features a number of firsts for Scorpion:

* The deck incorporates hard sides for the first time;
* Ullman shock mitigation seating fitted as standard; and,
* Kevlar and carbon used in the construction.

“The usual high-quality of Scorpion fit and finish is evident in the Strike and the standard specification included in this package represents a huge amount of performance-boat for the money,” said Scorpion RIBs Australia.
