NEW BOATS - Fjord 36 Open

After winning the title of European Powerboat of the Year 2008 for its 40 Open, Fjord says it is sending a new model into the race again.

“The new Fjord 36 open will be as exciting, as well design-orientated, and for sure hot!” stated the company press release. “Is flying really the best? Who believes that flying is the best, has never experienced a Fjord open. It is a real adventure to drive this radically designed powerboat, feeling the hard push of the double diesels in the back, speeding the boat at more than 40kts.”

Fjord said its 40 Open was so exceptional in her appearance, with a convincing performance, that it achieved the demanding title European Powerboat of the Year.

Now the builder said it has set free the 36 Open. “She is as well as fascinating, fast and seagoing, albeit smaller. But has everything that characterises her bigger sister,” Fjord said.

Described as a radical and purist design, the new 36 Open has twin-diesel power, DPA drive, and IPS joystick for smooth manoeuvring, while below is a double cabin, head with shower, and a pantry.

Fjord, a brand of the HanseGroup of Greifswald/Germany, will launch the new 36 Open at Genoa International Boat Show in October.

The price for the standard boat is said to be €183,500.
