The president of the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN), Jean-Francois Fountaine, will attend the 2010 Sydney International Boat Show (from July 29 to August 2) for the global launch of the Mahe 36 Evolution sailing catamaran.
Fountaine will be a guest of Multihull Solutions, the Australian and New Zealand importer of Fountaine Pajot catamarans.
Founded by Jean-Francois Fountaine and Yves Pajot in 1976, Fountaine Pajot is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cruising catamarans with 27 models and more than 2200 sail and power catamarans built since 1983.
With two state-of-the-art production sites in La Rochelle, France, Multihull Solutions said Fountaine Pajot employs an elite multidisciplinary team of more than 400 people and is renowned for its continued investment in technology, production industrialisation, research and design.
Fountaine will attend the Sydney International Boat Show to meet some of the Australian marine industry’s key figures and will also assist with the global launch of the new Mahe 36 Evolution sailing catamaran as well as the southern hemisphere launch of the Summerland 40 Trawler power catamaran.
Multihull Solutions said it will also be presenting the extremely popular Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 sailing catamaran at the show.
Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said it was an honour to have Fountaine with the company for the exclusive launchings of the Mahe 36 Evolution and the Summerland 40.
“Mr Fountaine is one of the leading identities in the international marine industry with a wealth of knowledge and experience,” Elkington said.
“We look forward to introducing him to Australia’s marine industry and particularly showing how popular the multihull market has become in recent years,” he said.
