NEW BOATS - 70 SUNREEF POWER EXPEDITION CATAMARAN LAUNCHED

Sunreef Yachts is celebrating the launch of its second custom-built 70 Sunreef Power Expedition Catamaran, ONDIN

, the brand’s Australian and NZ agent Multihull Solutions said.

This Expedition version of the 70 Sunreef Power was ordered by Chilean clients specifically for
extended cruising around southern South America, especially Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.

Multihull Solutions said the 70 Sunreef Power Expedition features long-range, exceptionally low fuel consumption and comfortable cruising thanks to its luxurious Sunreef Custom-Finish philosophy, enviable spaciousness and outstanding stability.

The yacht's accommodation and partially covered flybridge make her a comfortable cruising and exploration vessel, and she will now cruise straight to Central America from Europe, cross the Panama Channel and head south to Chile.

“The exterior shape of the ONDIN features streamlined marine hulls meticulously designed by Sunreef's design studio to be as wave piercing as possible, as well as underwater bulbs and aft platforms increasing the hulls’ length and naturally enhancing the yacht's performance,” said the Australian dealership.

“All deck space is covered in teak with integrated flush hatches. The expansive flybridge has undergone major changes and has been divided into two main parts. The helm station has been incorporated to the interiors and permanently covered with a composite hardtop, which resulted in a comfortable and big helm section with two double captain chairs and impressive navigation board featuring all the best navigation and communication equipment from Raymarine and Plastimo,” it said.

The helm station is said to also have extensive storage space and a wine cellar, with the flybridge accessible from this area, or directly from the cockpit.

Multihull Solutions said the interiors have been designed specifically according to the owner's needs, the main saloon features a well-equipped galley furnished with a full-size side-by-side fridge/freezer, dishwasher, trash compactor, icemaker, two ovens, electrical burners and wine cellar.

“The main deck accesses a mezzanine floor featuring a cosy lounge area with a sofa facing a 40ft LCD Sony television, DVD and Bose hi-fi system, ideal for relaxing with friends or family,” the distributor said.

“Downstairs is a full-beam owners suite with queen bed, 32in Samsung TV and DVD, sofa, plenty of storage and spectacular sea views from the front windows.

“The portside hull in the owner's suite features a spacious bathroom with a full-sized shower with massage function, his-and-hers sink, bide and toilets. The opposite hull comprises a dressing room with wardrobes, lockers, storage and wall-long mirror.

“There are two mirrored VIP cabins in the midship sections of the hulls with queen beds, desk and seating, storage and private bathrooms. They are light and luminous courtesy of six generous windows located on each hull. The aft sections feature the crew cabin with bunk beds and private bathroom on the port side while another guest cabin is installed in the starboard hull.

“The interior design features only the finest of finishes including seating and some wall decorations made of dark green leather, walls of fawn alcantara while the ceilings are crème alcantara. The wooden fixtures and furniture are constructed from Macore mahogany and the flooring is a rich teak.

ONDIN is equipped with the highly innovative NavyBus electrical distribution system by Navylec, which enables operation of all interior and exterior lighting via remote control, even at a distance of 300m!
NavyBus technology allows the suppression of cables onboard whenever possible by combining wired lighting and completely wireless switches. The system is based on remote intelligence with no centralisation, distributed via a communication bus and guarantees reliability, high durability and lower energy consumption,” said Multihull Solutions.

Sunreef Yachts specialises in luxurious production and custom-built sail and power catamarans from 60 to more than 150 feet in length. Established by Francis Lapp in the famous seafaring city of Gda?sk, Poland in 2000, Sunreef Yachts quickly revolutionised the yachting world by creating a new product on the market: the custom-made, large sized luxury catamaran, said the Australian agent.

“Since then, the shipyard has launched a wide range of single and double-deck sail catamarans, power cats and state-of-the-art superyachts.
There are now more than 40 Sunreef Yachts in international waters and the brand continues to garner acclaim within the demanding industry of luxury yachtbuilding,” Multihull Solutions said.

The company continued that the increasing international demand for Sunreef Yachts has led to the builder’s decision to increase overall production capacity with the acquisition of 16 hectares in Gda?sk for a new 25,000m² purpose-built manufacturing facility for yachts more than 50m in length.
