NEWS - SOLDIERS POINT MARINA GETS FIVE ANCHORS

Soldiers Point Marina says it has been selected to receive the prestigious 5 Gold Anchor rating for being judged a world-class boating facility.

The standard is based on the International Gold Anchor rating system that was launched in
Australia
last year by the Marina Industries Association of Australia.

NSW Minister for the Hunter, and for Tourism, Jodi McKay,
will present the award at a celebratory luncheon at Soldiers
Point
Marina’s The Point restaurant this Thursday.

“We are obviously delighted and honoured with this international recognition” said marina manager Darrell Barnett. “We work hard to ensure
Soldiers
Point
Marina
maintains its position as a world-class facility.”

The Gold Anchor program is designed to provide boat owners and marina users with a simple way to determine which marinas best fit their needs via a quick and easy reference system similar to the Hotel Association’s star rating scheme.

Gold Anchor marina ratings range from 3 to 5 Gold Anchors. A thorough research and development process for Gold Anchor has resulted in 95 assessment criteria being used to arrive at the rating. Infrastructure, facilities, planning and services are all assessed.

As well as desk top and independent site assessment, Gold Anchor marinas are subject to mystery shopper audits during the three-year rating period to protect the integrity of the rating scheme.
