Riviera’s Miami coup

RIVIERAS MIAMI COUP

Australian luxury pleasureboat builder, Riviera said it received a positive response to its newest models at one of the USA’s major boating exhibitions, the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show held earlier this month on Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, reporting sales across its Sport Yacht and Flybridge lines.

Riviera said among the sales at Miami were the new 43 Open Flybridge with IPS, 5800 Sport Yacht with IPS and 5000 Sport Yacht with Zeus drives. These new models are now bound for the US in coming months to be exhibited in October at the US premier boat show at Fort Lauderdale from October 28 to November 1.

Director of Riviera Yachts, Chris McCafferty said the US market was very excited about Riviera's new models and the company's future.

“We were impressed with the level of attention from the US market with several clients also expressing their interest for the new 70 Enclosed Flybridge and Motor Yacht line from 73 to 85 feet,” said McCafferty.

“This was a very successful show for Riviera with multiple sales across all lines, the 43 Open Flybridge, (and) 5000 and 5800 Sport Yachts were all sight-unseen sales, reinforcing Riviera’s reputation for quality and innovation, a tremendous achievement and a great start to 2010,” he said.

Riviera said details of the new 43 Open Flybridge design were only released days prior to the show. “This new model introduces an exciting new level of cruising amenity to the flybridge line, indoor/outdoor living with the rear bulkhead of the boat opening right up to connect the cockpit and saloon as one space, there is also an aft barbecue centre in the transom, making this the ultimate flybridge entertainer,” said the company’s press release.

“Volvo Penta IPS propulsion will give the 43 Open Flybridge a powerful and smooth ride while enhancing fuel efficiency and ease of handling in close-quarters via the integrated joystick control.

“The new Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht is a versatile design with the option of a galley aft in the saloon or on a lower level, an expansive cockpit with large dining table and a garage that can accommodate a 3.2m tender,” said Riviera.

“A lot of people have commented on how smooth and quiet the 5800 Sport Yacht is and they like the way it maximises the indoor-outdoor onboard living,” said McCafferty.

“With the generous four-cabin, three-bathroom accommodation, separate crew quarters and the single-level living saloon, aft galley and cockpit, the market is excited by what they are seeing,” he said.

Riviera said the new 5000 Sport Yacht offers owners the option of two accommodation layouts to further personalise the vessel: a three-cabin and two-bathroom design or two cabins and two bathrooms plus a below-deck lounge area. The large full-beam aft cabin offers options of an athwartships double bed and single portside bed or three singles.

Continuing on the builder said the option of an aft-facing lounge in the forward quarter of the cockpit, offers expansive views while protected from sun and wind.
“In the saloon, panoramic windows and a huge electric sunroof bring the outdoors indoors, and with the centrally located gourmet galley, this sportsyacht is perfect for entertaining.

The 5000 Sport Yacht is powered by twin Cummins turbo diesel engines linked to Zeus pod-drives with aft-facing propellers, and can be operated singlehandedly with an advanced joystick control.

“This has been an extremely rewarding show and the results show the US market is on the rise,” McCafferty said.
