BOAT SHOWS - RIVIERA AT AUCKLAND
Australia’s largest luxury pleasureboat manufacturer, Riviera says it is out to impress the New Zealand market with its latest designs on display at the Auckland International Boat Show from March 11 to 14.
The boatbuilder said it expects more than 20,000 boating enthusiasts will convene at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour, home to the 2000 and 2003 America’s Cup.
Examples from each of Riviera’s model series will be on display, some for the first time at the Auckland Boat Show, including the largest flybridge and sport yacht in the fleet.
Heading the range will by the company’s new 70 Enclosed Flybridge flagship, which it described as “the largest, most luxurious and technically advanced Riviera ever built featuring 3000hp, world-class technology, a fully enclosed flybridge with internal staircase and an alfresco undercover mezzanine dinning area in the cockpit.”
The Riv 70 boasts luxury four cabin/four bathroom accommodation with sleeping capacity for up to 14 people, in three cabins forward and the full-beam master stateroom aft. The master stateroom features a king-size walk-around bed, his and hers walk-in wardrobes with cedar linings, automatic lighting, a two-seater couch, and 32in LCD TV.
Riviera said the saloon on its flagship model has the ambience and space of a luxury apartment; with a leather U-shaped lounge comfortably seating eight, a stainless steel and teak staircase leading up to the enclosed flybridge, and the dining area and galley two steps up from the lounge area and featuring an expansive utility room for appliances.
The new Riviera 70 Enclosed Flybridge is said to be the culmination of 30 years of dedication to the goal of building the best luxury boats in the world and has been designed in consultation with internationally renowned naval architect Frank Mulder.
Also on display from the flybridge range will be the 51, now available with an IPS propulsion option, and 47 Enclosed Flybridges, and the 45 Open Flybridge.
In the Sport Yacht range, Riviera said its new 5800 with Volvo Penta IPS, offering up to 30 per cent better fuel consumption and joystick control for easy docking, has all the luxuries and craftsmanship expected from the brand.
The 5800’s main saloon features a large U-shape galley aft and a large dinette forward, with the forward section of the galley doubling as a breakfast servery serviced by two optional stools.
Riviera said the 5800 Sport Yacht offers a three or four-cabin option including full-beam master stateroom with midships king-size double bed, the option of a galley in the saloon on a lower level, an expansive cockpit with large dining table and a garage that can accommodate a 3.2m tender.
The 4400 Sport Yacht with IPS will also be on show as well as the 43 with IPS and 48 Offshore Express models.
R Marine New Zealand dealer principal Bruce McGill said the Auckland International Boat Show would provide a great opportunity for Riviera to introduce its latest designs to the NZ market.
“Riviera has participated in the Auckland International Boat Show for many years and we look forward to showcasing our impressive range at the 2010 show,” said McGill.
“2010 is tipped to be a positive year for new-boat sales and Riviera is powering forward with many innovative designs.
“Riviera’s latest models will be well received in Auckland with its beautiful harbour and tranquil islands with calm anchorages,” he said.
