EVENTS - Sanctuary Cove show adds Prestige Brokerage Display

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) said it will introduce a new component for the 2010 Show (May 20 to 23) — a Prestige Brokerage Display to showcase vessels of 15m or longer.

While Sanctuary Cove’s annual event has always attracted superyachts and luxury cruisers, organisers said the new category means there will be more high-quality 15m-plus vessels, some valued at more than $1 million.

SCIBS event director, Phil Shaw said only accredited marina brokers and dealers will be permitted to exhibit within the Prestige Brokerage Display.

“All applications for vessels must be approved by management and these brokerage vessels will only be permitted in the designated Prestige Brokerage Area,” said Shaw.

The Prestige Brokerage Display will be located in a distinctive area of the marina, which will complement the existing new boat on-water displays from marina arms A through to F he said.

The 2010 show will be the 22nd staging of the highly lauded event, on the Gold Coast from Thursday, May 20 to Sunday, May 23 from 9am to 5pm daily.

Shaw said the new component will further cement the SCIBS’ reputation as a leading Asia Pacific boat show.

Past events, said SCIBS, have drawn buyers from around the world, eager to view more than 100 world and regional marine product launches and more than 450 exhibitors.

Organisers said, as in past years, next year’s Show will feature on-water displays at the marina with linked walkways, and hardstand displays through the waterfront Marine Village.

Three large pavilion exhibition areas include the Yachtbuilders’ Pavilion sited in a prime location with glass walls overlooking the marina.
“A survey of 2009 exhibitors found solid feedback that this Show is an incredibly important part of the marine industry’s marketing,” said Shaw.

“I believe this is linked to our very extensive range of quality exhibitors encompassing power and sailboats, trailerable vessels, engines, marine accessories, marine business to business services and now more 15m-plus vessel displays,” he said.

SCIBS is staged at Sanctuary Cove, located within one hour of Brisbane and Gold Coast airports. While there is no public parking on site, streamlined transport options bring more than 50,000 visitors to the site during the four days.

Exhibitor bookings have opened for 2010. Intending exhibitors can book online via the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show website at www.sanctuarycoveboatshow.com.au
