NEW YACHTS - MOODY 62 DECK SALOON
Moody will be presenting the new and unique Moody 62 DS (Deck Saloon) world cruiser at this month's Southampton Boat Show, UK, and the Genoa Show, Italy in October.
The versatile and stylish Moody Deck Saloon 62 is claimed by the builder to combine the best of the sailing world, such as the:
* panoramic views of a catamaran; and,
* sail handling and performance of a fast cruising yacht.
The large cockpit connects direct through a sliding door to the spacious open-plan, loft-style saloon, which boasts all-round panoramic views, and a comfortable settee and dining areas.
The saloon also features an office-style navigation area and a galley that offers ample space for safe and seaworthy cooking. The galley has as standard a fridge box, drinks fridge, stove and oven, multifunction Miele microwave, built-in coffeemaker and double-drawer dishwasher. All appliances are run from a large battery bank and inverter or the standard generator. A modern state-of-the-art CAN-bus system provides easy system control.
The Moody 62 DS is an all-inclusive passagemaker with lifevests, a spare-part package and toolbox, and cutlery and crockery for eight people.
And for the push-button sailors there are electric winches, in-mast furling and an electric self-tacking headsail. Options include a double forestay solution with extra genoa.
Moody said the 160hp (114kW) Yanmar engine with a four-bladed folding propeller and the standard retractable bowthruster makes manoeuvring easy. The standard ship electronics include a plotter and autopilot.
