Dockside Buyers Group Members Save on Fuel

Since September 2007, Dockside Buyers Group says it has been saving boaties money on the water with discounts on all manner of boating requirements. 

Dockside said its members receive a range of deals from discounted marine fuel, deals on marine services and repairs, such as slip/antifouling, shipwrights, mechanics, detailing and more.

As Julie Preston from Dockside explained: “We are able to negotiate attractive deals by using the strength of our membership.”

The cost to join Dockside is $200 per year for motor boats and $100 per year for yachts.

“Many members absorb their membership fee in just one or two re-fuelings,” said Preston. “I think we are quite unique to the marine industry and I am not aware of other sliding-scale fuel discounts available to boaties.”

Dockside Buyers Group was established in the Pittwater area and last year expanded into the Sydney Harbour region. In the past, Dockside said its members had to purchase a minimum of 250lt of fuel to receive the fuel discount, but the group has just negotiated with its Pittwater fuel supplier (The Quays Marina, Church Point) a sliding fuel scale.

“Members now have access to discounted fuel when they purchase as little as 50lt — owners of smaller craft and yachts will now also benefit from membership to Dockside.” Preston said.
