YACHTS - Bavaria´s new cornerstone Cruiser 44

Bavaria Yachts said its new Cruiser 44 will set new standards in the middle market sector for sailing yachts following on from the Cruiser 55 and European Yacht of the Year 2009/10-nominated Cruiser 32.

The Cruiser 44, it said, will also be designed and developed in cooperation with Farr Yacht Design and BMW Group DesignworksUSA, a subsidary of the BMW Group.

“Thereby, the idea will continue to keep a consistent, premium product line with high-performance combined with attractive design and innovative detail solutions,” said the company in a press blurb.

“In addition to the established hull concept (with a large cockpit, twin rudders and twin steering-wheel system plus a lot of storage space) the well-received and appealing interior design in the style of the Cruiser 55 will also be found within the Cruiser 44,” said Bavaria.

The boatbuilder said the four-cabin version of the Cruiser 44 follows a similar concept of the Cruiser 55, whereby it can be easily converted from a four-cabin charter yacht into an owner´s yacht without much effort. “This increases the resale value immensely and the multiple usage for this outstanding sailing yacht,” Bavaria said.

Bavaria said the Cruiser 44 will most likely be launched at the boot Düsseldorf 2010 boat show and will first be available in the four-cabin version. The three-cabin version will be released at a later date, and both variants can be ordered from September 2009 for delivery in 2010.

“This new yacht will build a further cornerstone in the Bavaria Cruiser line with a length of 13.50m, a width of 4.40m, and combined with a sailplan where a self-tacking jib system can be Included,“ the boatbuilder said.
