BOATS – Da Vinci 30

BOATS - Da Vinci 30

Among the new launches for this year’s Northern Hemisphere summer is the retro Da Vinci 30 cabriolet weekend cruiser which will be officially unveiled at the 2009 HISWA Amsterdam In-Water Boat Show (Sept 1 to 6).

With a modern retro design, the new 30 is a departure from the Da Vinci Yacht’s current fleet. Although following similar lines to the existing Da Vinci 29, 32 and 34, the 30 has been given its own distinct appearance, doing away with the more ornate traditional styling of its peers.

Da Vinci Yachts from the Netherlands has a 38 on the drawing board which follows the 30’s modern theme, and like the rest of its vessels is designed and engineered by Dutch naval architects Vripack. The Da Vinci 30, said Vripack, has a spacious interior with 1.85m headroom and is equipped with a galley, separate shower/head and four permanent sleeping accommodations.

“The large cockpit has a flush self-draining floor and is provided with a U-bench to create a large comfortable lounge area for friends and family. The dashboard is modern… and the wheelhouse is equipped with a bench suitable for two people,” Vripack said in a press release.

The standard Da Vinci 30 is with a 190hp Volvo Penta D3 diesel engine, with options including a bigger single engine or twin setup. The speed is said to vary between 20 and 40kts, depending on the engine.

Da Vinci Yachts said it offers various interior packages, for an owner to create a boat which suits their personal taste.

The standard Da Vinci 30, said the builder, is broadly equipped and is expected to be priced from Euro 129,000. She is available from September.
