NEWS - Maritimo 73 dwarfs Sydney Boat Show

The Maritimo 73 Motoryacht is largest vessel ever designed and built by industry legend and Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter. The new silver-hull flagship heads Maritimo’s largest ever on-water display of 11 boats valued at more than $16 million.

The Maritimo 73 Motoryacht is a massive 50-tonne luxury cruiser with four luxury cabins, a large open saloon with aft galley and dining area and a beautifully furnished flybridge that is sure to be the area of choice for guests during passage, says Maritimo.

Labelled a 73, this behemoth stretches the tape to 80 feet (24.38 metres) when bowsprit and integrated hydraulic swim platform are included. Her spacious interior benefits from a massive 21-ft 6-inch (6.6-metre) beam.

Despite its size and displacement, the boat is said to be capable of topping 34 knots, powered by dual 1,500hp Caterpillar turbo diesel engines. She carries 9,500 litres of fuel and 1,720 litres of fresh water.

Like a multi-storey luxury apartment on water, the 73 Motoryacht includes a full-beam master stateroom amidships with large portlights set in the hull on either side, full-width his-and-hers bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and an impressive entertainment system. The accommodation space includes two guest staterooms and a two-berth bunk cabin as well as three bathrooms.

A significant cruising innovation is an enclosed toilet in a corner of the massive flybridge. A stylish timber and stainless steel staircase leads from saloon to the bridge that is furnished with two lounges on either side, a central entertainment console, a forward port lounge and forward, centrally mounted helm chair with companion chairs on either side. This is a space where owners and guests are sure to spend much of their time on passage.

The cockpit is a separate entertaining space, covering 17.7 square metres and including seating across the transom as well as an L-shape lounge in the forward starboard quarter.

The transom of this massive boat opens up to reveal a large “garage” suitable for a five-metre tender and water toys. There is even room in this space for separate crew’s quarters.

Maritimo has a second world release at Sydney: the exciting new Maritimo A50 Aegean Enclosed Flybridge. The smaller sister of the A60 Enclosed launched at Sanctuary Cove in May, this new cruiser has three cabins, a spacious saloon and comfortable flybridge with 360-degreee views.

Other models launched at Sanctuary Cove that will be on display for the first time in Sydney include the A60 Aegean Enclosed, A55 Aegean, C50 and C55 Cabriolets and the luxurious new 56 Motoryacht. The 48 Motoryacht, 52 Motoryacht, 60 Motoryacht, 500 Offshore and 550 Offshore will also be displayed.
