NEWS FLASH - Melbourne Boat Show ticket sales go online

The Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) has announced online ticket sales for the Melbourne Boat Show (July 2 to 6) have gone live for 2009, with discounted prices and a special two-day pass for online buyers.

New this year and available only online is a two-day pass for just $25, as well as discounted tickets of $15 for adults and $10 for concession — a $2 saving over the normal prices, BIAV said.

To buy online BIAV said to visit www.melbourneboatshow.com.au and follow the ticketing process, then present the printout at the door for a quick entry with no lining up to buy a ticket.

The Melbourne Boat Show is at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and organsiers said will feature hundreds of boats plus all the latest boating and fishing gear. Opening hours are 10am to 9pm daily, except Sunday when it closes at 7pm, and Monday when it closes at 8pm.

Special attractions include Flathead Fred’s Fun Fishin’ Show for Kids, Lulu Kids’ Activities, the Anaconda Pinnacle Climbing Wall, and new to the show the Giant Titanic slide.

The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard will run boat license training and testing sessions at 10.30am and
3pm daily, and everyone who buys a new boat at the show receives a free boat-handling course.

Full admission prices are: Adults $17; Children (under 16, accompanied by an adult) free; Students and pensioner concession cardholders $12 (with ID).
