SHOWS - Melbourne Club Marine Sail Boat Show at new Sandy
The annual Melbourne Club Marine Sail Boat Show in November will be the first major event to occur at Sandringham Yacht Club’s (SYC) brand new premises following the official opening in October.
Hailed as one of the best boutique sail-only shows in the country, show organisers said the only dedicated sailboat show in Melbourne will feature a new format to match the new $12.75 million clubhouse and waterfront facility.
SYC said it is expecting approximately 120 exhibitors (with many already booked), so to avoid missing out, the club advised it is essential to book quickly to be part of the event.
The Club Marine Sail Boat Show is devoted to sailing fanatics who can take it all in at their leisure at Victoria’s largest marina on Melbourne’s Bayside waterfront, while enjoying free entertainment and great food during what should be an ideal family outing.
Easy to get to and just as easy to park — and just a short stroll to the Club — the Show is expected to attract up to 10,000 visitors, adding to some 2000 SYC members who will visit the event over the weekend.
For diehards and novices alike, a wealth of information and professional advice will available to help find the right product to suit all interests and lifestyles. Organisers say there will be something for everyone who loves messing around with boats and/or joining the sailing ranks.
EXHIBITS
On-water, hardstand and off-the-beach display areas will accommodate more than 100 individual exhibitors from around the country. A full-range of monohulls, keelboats, dinghies, catamarans, trailable yachts, and more will be on display.
BOAT SHOW ALLEY
At the new Clubhouse, view more than 60 trade displays, including the latest designs and technical advances such as air-conditioning and fridges, engines, lifejackets, masts and spars, paint, propellers, ropes and rigging, sails, sailing instruments, toilets, pumps, winches, and more.
FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT
Take the family along — there’s plenty for all including live entertainment, kids’ entertainment and a wide range of catering options overlooking Port Phillip Bay.
COME TRY SAILING – IT’S FREE!
Always popular and at no cost, the Club Marine SYC Boating Academy is offering all Show visitors the opportunity to go sailing — young and old — it’s never too early, or too late! Some of the most talked about offshore sailors began their sailing careers as late as 60 years-old, while others were introduced to the sport as five year-olds!
Show organisers said the SYC’s experienced and friendly staff will take you for your first sail in a safe environment, so come and take pleasure in the thrills of sailing. Not all sailors race, so your first experience could be one that leads you to the joys of cruising, or just sailing on your local waters for fun.
NAUTICAL ART SHOW
The Artful Dodgers are bringing their Nautical Art Show to the Boat Show displaying more than 50 individual water-themed paintings and sculptures.
SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
A fabulous weekend of food and wine promotions held onsite in the Club’s food and beverage outlets, including the restaurant overlooking the harbor and the Boat Show.
Sandringham Yacht Club said it looks forward to welcoming all to their new premises and will make further exciting announcements involving the Show throughout the coming months
