Leigh-Smith Cruiser Sales introduces the new Hampton 680 Pilothouse

Gold Coast-based Leigh-Smith Cruiser Sales (LSCS) has introduced a new range of Hampton Yachts to Australia and NZ, and leading the fleet is the Hampton 680 Pilothouse.

The importer said that like all boats from the North American luxury motoryacht producer, the 680 Pilothouse is designed and built for comfortable, safe, and dependable cruising. The attention to detail in construction of the 680 Pilothouse is what every discerning yacht owner would expect in a semi-custom yacht, said LSCS adding, that the vessel continues to reflect Hampton Yachts’ uncompromising commitment to superior yacht design and construction.

Hampton’s in-house design team has spent many years refining the Pilothouse concept, said LSCS, and the solidly built 680 cruiser with covered sidedecks features quality interiors custom designed to each owner’s specifications. The importer said the wide 18ft4in beam on the Hampton 680 allows for large and comfortable living space with luxurious amenities.

The planing hull of the Hampton 680 incorporates a modified deep-vee design with high forward deadrise sections for a smooth entry in head seas and flatter aft sections with reverse chines to provide an efficient planning surface, resulting in a comfortable, stable, and safe ride, said LSCS.

This hull design also incorporates prop tunnels to lower the prop shaft angle for greater efficiency and directional stability.

The deck, deckhouse, and flybridge are cored with high-strength Divinycell using vacuum bag construction technique for maximum strength to weight ratio.

The pilothouse offers excellent visibility, and the large instrument panel allows for installation of the latest instrumentation and navigation equipment. The flybridge has a large seating area with adjustable table, helm bench, jump seat, wet bar, fridge, and BBQ space.

The main saloon of the Hampton 680 offers flexibility for customisation and the owner has the option to choose freestanding or built-in furniture from standard floor plans, or can work directly with Hampton’s in-house design team to create their own design. The galley, located amidships on the upper deck has access to the saloon and pilothouse, while premium appliances are complemented by a choice of Corian or granite countertop and top quality fixtures, said LSCS.

The Hampton 680’s beam allows for three staterooms, each with en suite head, said the importer, with this latest release vessel combining classy Euro inspired looks with today’s top of the range equipment.

For potential customers that want to sea trial a Hampton, LSCS said they have more than 10 680s in the USA and they can easily arrange a sea trial with a few weeks notice.

LSCS said the 680 Pilothouse is equipped with the “best of the best” and is excellent value with an anticipated retail price of around the $3 million.

It is anticipated that the next boats ordered will be a little more expensive as LSCS said it is discounting the abovementioned boat for entrance into the Australian marketplace.
