Mercury releases commercial outboard SeaPro range

Mercury SeaPro FourStroke outboard motors are made, according to Mercury, to “provide increased durability and longer engine life in commercial applications”.

The Mercury 150hp SeaPro is currently being shipped around the world while 75hp, 90hp and 115hp outboard motors will be available in April.

All Mercury SeaPro engines feature higher-durometer upper mounts that help decrease lifecycle costs. The engines are also built with a high displacement and low-weight.

“With SeaPro we have taken our newest mid-range FourStroke outboard motors to the next level of engine durability and fuel efficiency, without sacrificing power, as well as included specific features for commercial users,” said Nicholas Webb, Mercury’s Director of Engine Products and Marketing.

“For example, the new gearcases which let you drain the oil without having to remove the boat from the water so servicing costs are lower, and the upper mounts which are twice as stiff as those on recreational models and deliver greater durability.”

The Mercury Command Thrust gearcase, which creates a bigger footprint in the water and provides more leverage to control the boat, is standard on the 75hp, 90hp and 115hp SeaPro models.

Mercury SeaPro engines come with a water-separating fuel filter and SmartCraft SC1000 SystemTach gauge. In addition, the gearcase oil drain and fill is in the torpedo, allowing the engine to be tilted for easy drainage and refilling without the need to move the boat from the water. This setup also means there is no need to remove the propeller to change the gearcase oil.
