Australian Customs gets third Cape Class Patrol Boat
Cape Nelson, the third of eight Cape Class Patrol Boats, has been delivered to the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service.
The remaining five vessels, which are being built in Western Australia by Austal under a $330m contract, are at various stages of construction. Two of those have been launched.
The final 58m patrol boat is due for delivery in August 2015.
Austal’s Australian shipyard is also building two high speed support vessels for Oman’s Navy. They are expected to be delivered in 2016.
