YACHT DESIGNER SAM SORGIOVANNI TO SPEAK AT ASMEX 2013
Internationally renowned Australian superyacht designer Sam Sorgiovanni has been confirmed as a speaker at the 2013 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX), on the Gold Coast in May.
Organiser AIMEX said ASMEX is the key conference for the Australian marine export and superyacht industry, assisting local companies with networking options and expanding company horizons through crucial information for business opportunities.
The ASMEX 2013 team is compiling a strong programme, equipped with speakers who will share their experiences and present business strategies and ideas to ensure the Australian marine industry maintains its innovative and respected rapport.
Among the speakers is Sorgiovanni. AIMEX says he has obtained invaluable experience within the yacht design industry on a global scale, stemming his career from one of Australia’s most successful superyacht builders, Austal’s Oceanfast, where he was mentored by the late celebrated Australian superyacht designer Jon Bannenberg.
In 1997, Sorgiovanni established his own studio and began working on international projects. Organisers point to Sorgiovanni’s Antipodean way of life as a reflection in his superyacht projects: Octopus, Greg Norman’s former 228-footer Aussie Rules, Anastasia, White Rabbit and Nirvana.
