NEWS - World-renowned yacht designer to speak at ASMEX 2013
Internationally renowned and respected Australian superyacht designer Sam Sorgiovanni has been confirmed as a speaker at the 2013 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX), on the Gold Coast next May.
According to ASMEX organisers, Sorgiovanni has obtained invaluable experience within the yacht design industry on a global scale, stemming his career from one of Australia’s most successful superyacht builders, Austal’s Oceanfast, where he was mentored by the late celebrated Australian superyacht designer Jon Bannenberg.
In 1997, Sorgiovanni established his own studio and began working on international projects. ASMEX says Sorgiovanni’s Antipodean way of life can be reflected in his superyacht projects: Octopus, Greg Norman’s former 228-footer Aussie Rules, Anastasia, White Rabbit and Nirvana.
Sorgiovanni will bring his life experience to the table at ASMEX 2013 to educate others about what he has learned and will be discussing what superyacht owners want and expect in today’s market in conjunction with current trends. He is expected to also detail the design journey with personal anecdotes and what the key is to success on a global scale.
ASMEX, held from from May 21 to 22 at Sanctuary Cove, is Australia’s leading marine export conference featuring an informative programme and offereing key networking opportunities.
