International Spotlight: Nauta 54 Wide

Get ready for enormous space on the water with Italian superyacht design studio Nauta’s newest hybrid in the works

The wide, wide sea

Improving layout solutions for families out at sea is what has shaped the design of this yacht, with its low-slung exterior lines and sleek, simple and clean styling. The vessel exudes grace despite its size, which is not too large that it can’t still moor in picturesque locations, but with its beam widened to 11 metres, families on board can experience Nauta’s innovative arrangement styles.

The motoryacht is solid and well built as it’s constructed from steel and aluminium, giving owners plenty of reassurance of being safe within. The interior layout makes the Nauta 54 different from other vessels as there is greater well-thought out space for passengers to enjoy. One of Nauta’s patented innovations also features on the yacht, its ‘The Island’ system of folding platforms, giving those on board an uninterrupted walkway around three sides of the large beach club, which also doubles as a garage for whichever water equipment the passengers enjoy, as well as a tender of nine metres. This gives a total surface area of 100sqm.

The quiet and efficient diesel-electric system allows for more flexibility on how the propulsion machinery is distributed, with the six generators, switchboards, inverters and twin 1000kW electric motors connected to driveshafts — alternatively, electric pods — all located on the under-lower deck. This change in architecture — by Francesco Rogantin — provides extra room on the lower deck for six ensuite guest rooms. If they wish, owners can choose to transform one of these into a gym and spa. Forward on the lower deck are the crew mess, a dedicated laundry and crew accommodation.

The back rendering with sides down for more space

For a sense of luxury, owners will enjoy the 75sqm master suite with private office and large walk-in wardrobe – which is placed to soundproof the master from the noises of the galley — on the main deck forward. A VIP suite is starboard opposite the galley and overlooking the open aft deck and double stairs down to the swim platform is the 78sqm main salon and dining room with sliding glass doors on both sides, providing immense light and views to enjoy.

Even more room is found on the upper deck with cabins for the captain and first officer, as well as a ship’s office behind the wheelhouse, not seen on a yacht of this size. For a space to unwind and relax, the sky lounge is ideal to watch TV while the open aft deck is furnished for panoramic al fresco dining. Family life meets entertaining with the 137sqm of sundeck, featuring a forward hot tub, lounges, dining under the hardtop and a large bar and barbecue unit aft. The initial engineering of the Nauta 54 Wide has already been completed.
