"Tarni" is a very well known vessel on Port Phillip Bay and used as the Brighton Yacht Club Rescue boat for many years. Built in 1969 by Pompei Brothers of Mordialloc Victoria to their standard 34ft design of round bilge carvel construction long grained Huon & celery top pine planking with laminated celery top pine ribs through fastened with copper nails. Some kauri pine planking found in the cockpit hull sides. Longitudinal Kauri stringers, hardwood keel & deadwoods fastened with copper bolts. Planking 1 1/4, Ribs 2 1/2 x 1 1/4 laminated, stringers 5 x 1 1/2, keel sided 51/1 hog 8. They just don't make boats like this anymore! 
Deck is laid beech decking over plywood, Cabin Layout consisting of small foredeck, aft 2 berth focsle cabin, aft to port wash place with shower and toilet, aft to main saloon with starboard settee and port galley up to wheelhouse with large cockpit. Starboard helm console on bulkhead. 
Main Engine, 6 Cylinder Detroit 6V53 series 238hp/177.54kw @21oo 2 stroke diesel engine
