Skua is a Van de Stadt design, built in 1977 in Lanester (North of France) by the boat yard &#171; Constructions Navales des Forges &#187; who built more than 80 Orca. She is built in a very high quality steel &quot;Nuance&quot; E24I, extremely resistant to corrosion, used for train rail tracks, so it rusts on the surface, but does not goes deeper.... I own Skua in January 2013 in Raiatea where she is well known by local people, and sail with her all over French Polynesia (Marquises, Tuamotu, Tahiti moorea, Bora bora), than up to marshall islands via Cook islands, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Tuvalu and Kiribaties. Before me she was own by two well known sailors in French Polynesia, who sail her from France to Tahiti via the Caribbean, Patagonia and many other places. Skua is a register in Papeete (Tahiti). The selling price includes import tax to Australia. She can be registered in Australia or stay with the French Polynesia registration (payed only once to register your boat for life)..... After three years of extensive sailing with Skua, we are looking for a bigger sailboat, and this is why we are selling her. The engine a Perkings 4108 50 hp was changed in 2010, and we have all the spare parts with joints for a second engine except the block. Right now the engine runs as a clock. Her original engine was a 40 hp, she is still registered with a 40 hp, but the new engine is a 50 hp. The entire boat was treated with a &quot;methagrip&quot; cold sink treatment. We haul out Skua in September 2016 in Fiji, for a new bottom pain, and total refit. She was scraped and grinded the old bottom paint up to the metagrip, applied 3 coats of resene 510 epoxy primer specially designed to stick to zink and epoxy based paint, and 3 coats of antifouling. We live on board, and keep her up to shape for immediate departure, so she is ready to continue a long life of exploration, or anywhere the new owner would like to sail her. We are now in Sydney. We just low down the price from 55 000 to 45 000 aud ncluding sale tax, and we are open for discussions.
